We all make resolutions at the New Year, and for most things that’s a great time to start afresh.  But what a time for sports and exercise!  The days are cold, they’re wet and there’s more darkness than light

So it’s no surprise that so many people find it difficult to keep to their resolutions to take more exercise or sport – it is probably the worst possible time of year to keep yourself motivated

The solution is simple – make your resolution at a time of year when things are looking better, when it’s warmer, when there’s daylight in the evening after work

And what better time to start afresh than the first day of spring – the 20th March
